I’ve been using the Dasung Paperlike monitor for a bit now on my alternate computer (a Raspberry Pi 400). I don’t know what I thought this monitor was going to be like, but I’m still trying to figure out the best display settings both on the monitor and on the computer so it’s more usable. There’s a lot of dithering on any setting, and weirdly enough, the backlight seems to breathe, making the wall behind the monitor light up in a slow pulsing fashion which I’ve learned to ignore.

As a programmer and modern human, I stare at screens for hours and I feel like eink has potential, especially if I could use this monitor and my ReMarkable tablet more consistently. I’ve also been messing around with the Raspberry Pi + eink displays like this 7-color one from Waveshare. That’s all I have to say for now.
